John Winfield Ellmore
My father John Winfield Ellmore was an amazing, self-taught engineer. Though he never spent a day in college, his gifted mind was capable of intricate designing. He was respected as a talented engineer of garage door openers. He was diagnosed with Melanoma on my birthday in February 1991. Despite surgery and radiation and a brave battle, he went to his heavenly reward on August 4, 1991 leaving behind a wife, 2 daughters, a son and 2 beautiful granddaughters. How joyful he would have been to see his recently-born great-grandson but Melanoma, a hideous killer, deprived him of this pleasure.
Let’s spread awareness of this heinous disease so that other great-grandbabies get the opportunity to know their great-granddaddies.
