Do you think you've seen it all? From Fox News, the Philadelphia Inquirer to NBC10 (shown here) all have featured this story about something we're sure you've never seen. Five women from West Chester, Pennsylvania, have challenged themselves to visit every Wawa in the United States while raising money for melanoma. There are 578 Wawa's (convenience stores on the East Coast) in five states. So far, the women (Jill, Mary, Emily, Andi & Ann) have visited 433!
Wawa has taken notice of this crazy challenge and has agreed to match the money that the women spend on their visits and the donate the funds to MIF. So far, they have spent approximately $1,200. Way to go!
This adventure is in memory of Maria Whitehead, a local field hockey player and coach who lost her battle against melanoma in November 2006. We are excited for the awareness that these young women are bringing to melanoma and wish them the best.
