Dad and Mom brought their young family from Northern Ireland to the USA to begin a life in a new land. Using a strong work ethic, they were successful. In 2000, melanoma was visible on one of Dad’s toes and soon spread throughout his body. Jim was the strongest men I have ever met. This horrible disease took away all of his strength, but not without a valiant fight. Jim died in 2004, on Easter Sunday. He was fortunate to have seen five of his grandchildren. We all miss him terribly and always remember him laughing the hardest at his own jokes.
Rest in Peace, Dad.
